BE KIND REWIND (GO SEE IT)
Mos Def and Jack Black team up in one of the more creative movies that Hollywood has released in a long time. I am not going to give any of the plot away but i do believe the reviews in last Friday’s newspapers missed out on what this movie was trying to promote. It is a funny, lighthearted look at how two guys and one girl deal with a problem that nearly ruins their friend’s video store. This movie appealed to me and I give it a two thumbs up and it is truly a ”PAPA’S PICK!” If you liked “Clerks” you will certainly enjoy this movie!

andy pettitte
i wonder what the reaction is going to be for pettitte’s first start at the stadium. will the fans cheer him or boo him. based on the treatment of jason giambi by yankee fans i think the fans will embrace andy and let them know they forgive him and are ready to forget. but it can’t hurt if he has a good outing. let’s say 7 strong innings, 6 hits 1 run baseball 1 walk 3 strikeouts. sports is a what can you do for me lately business and if a player can help a team win the fans will be able to forget about what the athletes have done in the past. hey everyone loves a winner.

harlem globetrotters
sunday february 17 a day that i will never forget! I had the chance to suit up for the washington generals against the harlem globetrotters. the generals were extremely nice and allowed me to enter the game in the 2nd quarter. i was guarded by showtime who told me to shoot. i did but unfortunately missed 3 in a row. i was knocking down jumpers in practice but missed in the game. the next time down the court i drove past showtime who fouled me. he kept interrupting me while i was on the foul line, which i didn’t mind, and i actaully drilled one out of two free throws! i think i was cheering louder than any other fan at nassau coliseum. it was a honor and privilege to play on the same floor as the globetrotters! i recommend it to anyone who has a chance to do this because it is something i will never ever forget!

islanders win
the islanders kids days a tremendous success. not only did they defeat the sharks with a rousing 3 goal third period they let the kids walk onto the ice after the game and shoot a puck into the net. great job by the club. plus the mascots roaming the stands delighted everyone in the crowd. my favorite mascot is sparky and my second favorite is mr. met. someone told me there is a faction of mets fans that want to fire mr. met. we can not let that happen! mr. met should be with the club now and forever!
